Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. grew out of the personal need of the inventor to solve the problem of cat litter being tracked throughout the house and ruining new wood floors. The first cabinet was constructed in the inventor's garage and put into use by his five cats in August 2002. That same cabinet is still in use today.

Positive response from other cat owners was overwhelming, with many requests for a cabinet of their own, a few more cabinets were made. Due to the growing local demand, the thought of making the idea into a Company developed, and so Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. was incorporated, patents were filed and business began in 2003.

Web sales took off with a national advertising campaign. Cat Fancy Magazine awarded the Out of Sight Litter Box with a 2003 Editor's Choice Award as one of the hottest new products of the year!  Many local and state wide Pet Stores started to stock and sell our Product.

Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. became a member of the APPMA, American Pet Products Manufacturers Association and in March of 2005 attended the Global Pet Expo to debut our product to the retail market place. We were well received! All the large Pet Store chains were very interested as well as hundreds of smaller pet stores and many national mail order catalogs.

The web based sales business and commercial growth was manageable. Over the years, sales for the Out of Sight Litter Box® had grown to the point that Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. and then manufacturer could not keep up with customer orders. Our brand name was recognized in the Pet Industry, our product was high quality and in large public demand. To reach the price point the chain stores required, we signed a License Agreement and contracted with a large Ready-to-Assemble manufacturer and distributor to proceed towards mass market saturation. Without notice late in 2006, that Company shut down, a similar situation to the Wall Street mess. Our forward momentum stopped and was now in the court system.

We did win the case, and got our rights back, but will never see a dime from the monetary Judgment. So, we had to start over. It has taken a long time and after working with many different manufacturers, one did rise to the top. We are proud to say they are located here in the USA, and are first and foremost, honest. They would be considered a very small manufacturer in the RTA furniture business, but their business future is secure, they produce high quality woodworking and were willing to work with us during this difficult time in the economy and with our penny pinching 2009 start over.

Quality does not come cheap. And the prices of raw materials have risen considerably over the past few years, as have labor costs. It has always been Out of Sight Litter Box. Inc.'s goal to produce the highest quality - long lasting product at a fair price. We know our pricing is higher than much of our competition, but we have purchased many of the other cat cabinet products to see what $99.00 and up will buy. Our conclusion is... you get what you pay for. Our brand reputation stands on our quality product, and our sales growth is driven by satisfied customers word of mouth. We know that the cost of quality is a long term value and worth the higher price.

Our cabinet is different in design utility (use) then any other litter box cabinet on the market. Ours not only hides the litter pan, but because of our patented and patents pending design features, the Out of Sight Litter Box® stops litter tracking and also keeps the litter pan out of reach of mischievous dogs or inquisitive children. We do not take short cuts like many of the other manufacturers do. Photos do not show quality. We use high grade plastic coat melamine, not hot-pressed painted cardboard or paper coated chip board. All our panel edges are sealed with edge banding, even the "blind" edges you won't see after assembly. And we are Made in the USA.

Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. believes in giving back, and will donate a percentage of net profits from sales. Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. contributes funds that will help with the day to day operation costs of shelters and also help bring awareness to our customers of their local no-kill animal shelters by posting information and links on our web site.
Within each Out of Sight Litter Box, Inc. product box is a mail-back postcard for each purchaser to fill out with information regarding their local no-kill animal shelter. A random drawing each month will be made from all returned information cards, and that chosen shelter listed will receive that months percentage of sales as a donation. We encourage and promote spay and neuter programs. If you own a cat, have it spay or neutered. If you are getting a new kitten, have it spay or neutered.
