Is the Out of Sight Litter Box® difficult to put together?
Our unique cabinet has been designed to be easy to assemble. Just follow the step-by-step photo instructions that clearly show, and explain each step. All you will need is a Phillips screwdriver and a hammer.

What is the Out of Sight Litter Box® made of?
Our panels are 1/2 inch thick high grade plastic coat melamine. This surface allows easy cleaning and repels litter pan "misses".  Most of the less expensive litter cabinets on the market use hot-pressed cardboard that has been painted, or a paper coated chip board. All our panel edges are "edge banded" to help seal them from moisture absorption. Even the "blind" edges of our panels that you don't see after assembly are edge banded. Most of the less expensive litter cabinets on the market do not edge band or paint the "blind" edges. When a litter pan "miss" happens, that moisture seeps between the panels, and is absorbed into the panel. That smell, will never go away. Our back panel is also coated on the inside (not cardboard) and has ventilation holes that allow air flow and light into the cabinet area. Our first cabinet was manufactured in 2003 and is still in use today!

How will your cat(s) know where to find the litter box?
After your Out of Sight Litter Box® has been moved to its final location, we recommend using the litter from your old litter pan, your cats nose will know that is the place to go. Then just open the top lid and lovingly place your cat onto the litter and slowly close the top lid. Your cat will sniff around, then find it's way out of the cabinet. That's it. Once out, going back in when nature calls will be routine.

Will your cat actually fit inside the cabinet?
The Out of Sight Litter Box® floor level cat entrance door opening is 9 x 11 inches, and the opening area up to the shelf is 8 x 9. Both are much larger than standard pet doors. Our tests have shown, and customer comments have proven, that most cats will fit. (Cats up to 22 pounds fit - large/long Maine Coons and Norwegian Forest Cats may not.) Because of our design features, the Out of Sight Litter Box® also keeps the litter pan out of reach of mischievous dogs or inquisitive children. Also a very important measurement inside the cabinet is the "head room" for your cat, the Out of Sight Litter Box® offers a full 15 inches while sitting in the litter pan.

What is the difference between TraxTurf® and Grids?
TraxTurf® is a soft and flexible Astro-turf mat our company has incorporated in two locations of the Out of Sight Litter Box® to remove litter from your cats paws. TraxTurf® traps and holds litter that would otherwise be tracked throughout your home. Our TraxTurf® is the high quality real deal, purchased direct from the patented Astro-turf manufacturer.

Grids, or Patented Grids are a hard plastic sheet with square cut holes that spread cats toe pads apart to release litter. This product has been known to cut the pads and heals of cat paws.

TraxTurf® is easy to clean, you will be surprised when you pick up the mat and shake out (recycle) all the collected litter back into the litter pan. If ever soiled, just wash with soapy water, dry and replace. Our TraxTurf®  will last for years of daily use. Many cats even use TraxTurf® as a scratching surface.

Will my litter pan work?
The Out of Sight Litter Box® will work with any standard or large size (up to 16 x 19 inch) litter pan, available at any Pet or Department Store, the one you now have will probably fit just fine. For your convenience we offer our customer fix High-Sider litter pan on our order page. The High-Sider fits tight into our cabeints and is almost 11 inches tall, no kitty is going to "miss" over the to of this pan! The High-Sider pan works great for multi-cat households. TIP: With any new litter pan, or after cleaning your old one, use automobile wax or a furniture polish and cover the inside of the litter pan completely. Let dry, rub off excess, then repeat. This will help seal the plastic from odor and make the litter pan easier to clean.

What about daily maintenance?
As long as you have a cat, you will have to clean the litter box daily. Why not save time and make it easier on yourself. The Out of Sight Litter Box® has been designed to make daily cleaning easy on you with it's lift top lid. Scoop and walk away. (We recommend using your old plastic grocery bags to scoop clumps and waste in to, then knot closed and discard properly.) The Out of Sight Litter Box® was designed to be used with all types of litter; however, we recommend a good quality clumping litter. It is important that you remove cat litter waste areas daily, and dispose in an appropriate manner. From time to time the litter collected by the TraxTurf® mats will need to be emptied (recycled) into the litter pan. During those times, any stray litter particles can be removed by vacuum or small brush. Clean the cat litter pan with warm water and a mild detergent between litter changes (if not using litter liners). TIP: With any new litter pan, or after cleaning your old one, use automobile wax or a furniture polish and cover the inside of the litter pan completely. Let dry, rub off excess, then repeat. This will help seal the plastic from odor and make the litter pan easier to clean.

Can kittens use the Out of Sight Litter Box®?
Many cats act like kittens, but kittens are not mature enough to gain access to the shelf and litter pan area to use the Out of Sight Litter Box®. You will know when your kitten is ready for our product when that little one jumps up on your lap, instead of climbing up your leg.

What happens if my cat won't use it?
If your cat presently uses a hooded litter box he/she should have no problem adapting to the Out of Sight Litter Box®. If an open litter pan is used, most cats will adapt by leaving the top lid open for a short period of time. If you or your cat are not satisfied, you may return the Out of Sight Litter Box® following our return policy. If you purchase from a Pet Store, follow their return policy.
